Bidding
is Easy
All Bidding takes place over the internet.
You can bid automatically or take part in the real-time auction
from your computer. To ensure complete fairness in the bidding
process, Hodgins Online Auctions does not allow its agents,
vendors or employees to bid on the equipment during an auction.
We make every effort to prevent sellers from bidding on their
own equipment.
Prior
to an auction, you may preview the items online. If you can’t
be online at the time of the auction, you may submit an advance
bid anytime during the preview.
An
Advance Bid instructs our system
to automatically bid on your behalf, up to the highest price
that you are willing to pay. To place an Advance Bid during
the preview period, you will need to specify your maximum
bid amount. The Hodgins Online Auction system only uses as
much of your maximum bid amount as necessary to keep you in
the position of highest bidder. Your maximum bid amount is
never revealed to the other bidders.

Our
bidding process allows you to win an auction at a price less
than your maximum amount while providing the flexibility of
not having to monitor the auction every minute. Remember that
you can increase your bid or your maximum bid amount at any
time before the auction closes but you cannot reduce your
bid or your maximum bid amount at any time.

Guaranteed
Inspection Reports
Virtually
all items will have a thorough detailed description and photo
gallery to view. Many items also carry a “Guaranteed
Inspection Report” which means the items have been through
a detailed inspection process.
We
guarantee our buyers that what they see in the inspection
report is what they get when they recieve the equipment. Watch
for the Gold Metal Assurance
symbol indicating this guarantee.
Our
Service
We manage all steps of the payment process for both the buyers
and sellers. On request, we can offer assistance through our
third party suppliers for your financing and/or transportation
needs.
Hodgins
Online Auctions requires that, within three (3) days of purchasing
an item, you must submit the full purchase price, plus all
applicable taxes, and the transaction fee (as described in
Buyer Fees).
After
you successfully bid on an item, Hodgins Online Auctions will
give you further instructions about how to submit your payment.
Depending upon where you live, payment can be made by wire
transfer, certified cheque or bank draft.
When
full payment from the buyer has been posted to our bank account,
Hodgins will notify both the buyer and seller that the money
has been deposited. The buyer will then be provided with the
location of the equipment. It is the buyer's responsibility
to make arrangements for transport of the equipment. Once
that has occurred, the seller must release the equipment for
shipment or pick-up. Once the item reaches the buyer and is
accepted (or once the buyer is deemed to have received the
item), Hodgins Online Auctions will authorize the release
of funds to the seller.
